Who likes Sake? Well if you do, have you ever tried sparkling sake? The taste is quite different! lol. “Mio Sparkling Sake” is a perfect example of this variety of sparkling sake. Once eyes have laid upon its packaging, one will automatically be impressed by its elegance and design before one has even seen the bottle itself. There are decorations reminiscent of Sakura leaves skilfully printed on the face of the box which seep onto its sides, and the name of the sake “Mio” in Kanji (Japanese script) decorates the center of the box as well as the lid. For those who may be curious, “Mio” is Japanese for “Waterway”; in which a waterway can include rivers, lakes, oceans or seas.

When you pour the sake into a glass, you will immediately notice its aroma. The sweet smell is reminiscent to that of champagne. The sake itself has almost a transparent complexion; but not quite. There is a touch of yellow which just serves to add that imagery of autumn. Next, the taste. It is not too sweet, but there is enough sweetness which makes it very easy to drink. At first there is a slight kick and tingle felt on the back of the tongue due to the sparkling element, but you then taste the alcohol which isn’t too strong. The taste dances about the tongue.

ww

“Mio Sparkling Sake” is a great sparkling sake. It is sweet and it is not strong so I think that it will be popular amongst various people. This is a drink that you can drink when you are celebrating a special event such as a wedding, graduation and birthdays! You can drink it even on a normal day!
