Kanji of the day – 日

13 Oct

Day/Sun - 日

This is a grade 1 kyouiku kanji and it simply means day/sun.

In terms of its On  and Kun’yomi readings how you read this kanji differs.

On’yomi (Japanese reading based of a kanji character based on original Chinese pronunciation) – Nichi にち、 Jitsu じつ

Kun’yomi (Native Japanese reading of a kanji character) – Hi ひ, Ka か, Bi び

See, easy right?! You’ve just  learnt a new kanji! Unless you already knew this….lol
